Energy Consumption 

All the major manufacturers have been making real progress in recent years in terms of the energy efficiency of their tumble dryers. The introduction of sensor drying systems several years back marked a major milestone in this process, as cycles could now automatically stop once the load was dry to prevent you wasting electricity. Not only did this eliminate the guess work involved and make tumble dryers more environmentally friendly, but it also helped save money from the user’s energy bill. We sell many A and B grade rated appliances that use heat pump technology to recycle energy and lower overall consumption by up to 50%; keep an eye out for these as you browse our range. 

Condenser, Vented or Heat Pump Tumble Dryers 

There are two main types of tumble dryer: vented and condenser. Vented models use a tube that must be inserted through a nearby window or routed through an external wall to remove the excess moisture extracted from your soggy clothes. Condensers & heat pump manage this process internally and instead have a small reservoir which must be emptied occasionally. The added convenience of condenser dryers tends to make them slightly more expensive than vented models. Heat pump take slightly longer to dry than condenser styles but use far less electric saving you around £50 a year compared to a condenser tumble dryer.
