Why Buy A Dishwasher? 

There is a commonly held misconception that washing dishes by hand is more efficient than using a machine. In fact, the opposite is true: dishwashers use much less water to clean the same amount of plates, cups and cutlery than manually filling the sink several times.

They are also the more hygienic option because the water in a dishwasher reaches hotter temperatures than when you wash by hand, which kills off harmful bacteria. 

For many, the biggest benefit of buying a washing machine is simply the time you save. Washing up by hand was recently voted Britain’s least favourite activity, so why not spend your evenings doing something more enjoyable or productive than scrubbing dishes?

What types of dishwasher are available; and which is right for Me?

We stock several models of dishwasher from many of the biggest home appliance brands, including Bosch, Blomberg, Beko and Siemens. There are three main types of dishwasher you should be aware of when looking to purchase a new machine: slimline, freestanding and built in. At around 500mm in width, slimline washers are slightly thinner than full size models (approx. 600mm), which allows them to fit in smaller gaps. They tend to have slightly smaller capacities to allow for this, but they are a great option if you are tight on space in your kitchen or if it needs to be slotted into a smaller gap between worktop units. Freestanding dishwashers stand on their own without needing support from any other unit or appliance (so you can place them anywhere in your home), whereas built-in models are fitted into your kitchen units. Built-in dishwashers can be further divided into fully and semi integrated categories, with the former entirely hiding the appliance from sight and the latter displaying the control panel at the top of the machine for ease of access.
