Fan ovens are very popular; most households that have an oven will have an electric fan oven. This is because they give a much better even heat within the oven cavity and because they reduce cooking times. Over time these can become noisy or fail completely.
Once they fail they can no longer force the hot air from the fan element that surrounds the motor, into the oven cavity to cook your food. When this happens the fan element sometimes can become faulty as well so worth checking whilst the oven is in bits.
Often the fan motor is supplied with the fan but not always. A thing to remember when you are dismantling these is that the nut that holds the fan on is left-handed.
